Tinted Glass

Tinted Glass can sometimes be a must for commercial buildings in the hot Georgia sun.  Clark Glass & Mirror can provide any size or amount of tinted glass for your commercial project.  Glass is available in a number of tints which absorb a portion of the solar heat and block daylight. Tinting changes the color of the window and can increase visual privacy. The primary uses for tinted glass are reducing glare from the bright outdoors and reducing the amount of solar energy transmitted through the glass.

The most common tinted glass colors are neutral gray, bronze, and blue-green, which do not greatly alter the perceived color of the view and tend to blend well with other architectural colors. Tinted glass is made by altering the chemical formulation of the glass so the tint will not fade or change color like tinting film does over the years.

Every change in color or combination of different glass types affects visible transmittance, solar heat gain coefficient, reflectivity, and other properties. Glass manufacturers list these properties for every color, thickness, and assembly of glass type they produce.

Glass Edge Polishing

Glass Edge Polishing is often necessary for glass table tops or any unpolished glass edge that may have a potential to injure people or pets.  We can provide glass with polished edges or we can custom polish the edges of any type glass you want to bring in. 

Polishing is the shaping or finishing of the edges of a glass surface, usually by grinding with an abrasive wheel. Pencil Polished edge in a Satin finish (also available in clear finish) is the most common type of edge work on mirrors, although this is not as common on mirrors as it is on glass. Beveled edges can also be applied to any of these edge finishes.
